Spectral Grid Setup

The Spectral Grid setup widget is used to specify parameters for setting up the photon energy grid used when computing the emergent spectral radiation. (Note that this is different from the photon energy grid used in computing photoabsorption rates for the atomic level populations calculation. For this, see Kinetics Model setup widget.)

Parameters for the photon energy grid include:

Between the minimum and maximum photon energies, a "continuum" grid of points is set up which is evenly spaced logarithmically. Additional points are then added for each bound-bound transition which has a line strength above a specified value.

If the Utilize hydrocode fluid velocities box on the Simulation Type panel has been checked, there is an option to include the Doppler shifts in the calculated spectrum.
